Apr 11, 2026 – Invade
Utmost – Chambers continues, from yesterday, explaining about death to sin, “The incoming of the Spirt of Jesus into me readjusts my personal life to God…. The idea all through the Apostle Paul’s writings is that after the moral decision to be identified with Jesus in His death has been made, the resurrection life of Jesus invades every bit of my human nature…. The Holy Spirit cannot be located as a Guest in a house, He invades everything.”
Simpson offers, “Faith adds its amen to God’s yea, and then takes its hands off, and leaves God to finish His work. Its language is, ‘Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him; and He worketh.’”
Power – Colossians 3:2 NIV – “Set your minds on things above, not on earthy things.” Joyce suggests, “Stop thinking that you could be happy ‘if’ your circumstances were different, and start being happy right now because God loves you and has already blessed you in many ways. Our unhappiness usually comes from within us and not from something around us. So I recommend that you take responsibility for your own joy and stop blaming the lack of it on anything or anyone.” It is easier to “decide to be happy” when we remember we have the Holy Spirit inside us teaching us to let go of the “if onlies”.
Since I don’t have all of my devotion books with me, I will lean on some online resources. Today I look to Larry Stockstill’s devotion for Church of the Highlands (COTH) as he also encourages us to trust God in everything – “Whatever impossible circumstances may stand before you will surely be defeated as God’s presence arrives in the battle. Joshua 3:13 says that when the feet of the priests who carried the ark touched the water, the flow of water was cut off upstream and the river piled up there in a heap. As you come to your ‘Jordan,’ set your foot in the water…. One little step of faith releases all the power of God into your situation.”
