JC – “Trust Me in every detail of your life. Nothing is random in My kingdom. Everything that happens fits into a pattern for good, to those who love Me.” I needed that reminder. “Nothing is wasted when you walk close to Me. Even your mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good, through My transforming grace.”

Simpson gives us a sober truth about not staying close to God, “Seldom have we seen a sadder wreck of even the highest, noblest Christian character than when the enemy has succeeded in undermining the simple trust of a child of God, and got him into self-accusing and condemnation…. This is Satan’s objective point in all his attacks upon you, to destroy your trust. If he can get you to lose your simple confidence in God, he knows that he will soon have you at his feet.”  Hebrews iii. 6 – “Hold fast the confidence.”

Power – Joyce adds this about enemies, “Like David, we all have enemies or what we call giants in our lives who need to be defeated. First Samuel 17:42-48 tells us that when David was preparing to do battle with the giant Goliath, he ran toward him (not away from him), with the power of God as his weaponry, confessing out loud what he believed the end result of the battle would be…. we must open our mouths and speak the Word of God…. you can release His power by boldly speaking out your faith in Him.”

Utmost – Part of running toward the issues/giants in our lives is, as Chambers points out, making the “decision about sin – that it must be killed right out in me…. it is the great moment in my life when I do decide that just as Jesus Christ died for the sin of the world, so sin must die in me, not be curbed or suppressed or counteracted, but crucified. No one can bring anyone else to this decision.”
