May 30, 2026 – Sailing

A great day of sailing on the rather choppy Pensacola Bay, seeing and experiencing the beauty and power of God’s creation. As I’m sitting here I’m still feeling my sea legs from adjusting to all of the rocking and rolling of the sailboat. I remember that feeling even from ages ago when I sailed the intracoastal from North Carolina to the Bahamas. It can sometimes feel like a risk to be out on the open water because many things can go wrong, but it is almost always worth it. With God, God it is always worth it.

Prevail #150 – Proverbs 11:27 – “If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!”  Larson expands on this verse, “In life, you’ll experience good and bad, gladness and sadness, feast and famine. But in Christ you can be sure that there’s a redemptive aspect to every element of your life. God issues daily invitations and opportunities to be a blessing to a world in need. Look for the good and you’ll find something more: favor that comes from walking in God’s power and reflecting His heart…. our search for good today is producing a beautiful grit in us that goes against the tide of culture and flies in the face of the enemy’s intent for us…. You are an ambassador of heaven. You have access to joy, peace, perspective, and power. You can change the atmosphere wherever you go when you go in the strength and perspective of the Lord.”

JC – “Time with Me cannot be rushed…. Push back the demands pressing in on you; create a safe space around you, a haven in which you can rest with Me. I also desire this time of focused attention and I use it to bless you, strengthening and equipping you for the day ahead.”

Streams – Cowman has George Matheson minister to us about songs sung from the heart, “Certain songs can only be learned in the valley…. Their music is found in the heart. They are songs remembered through personal experience, revealing their burdens through the shadows of the past, and soaring on the wings of yesterday. In [Rev 14:3], John tells us that even in heaven there will be a song that will only be sung by those ‘who had been redeemed from the earth’…. No angel, not even an archangel, will be able to sing the song as beautifully as we will. TO do so would require them to pass through our trials, which is something they cannot do. Only the children of the Cross will be equipped to learn the song. Therefore, dear soul, in this life you are receiving a music lesson from your Father.”

Power – Joyce bases her thoughts today on Ephesians 3:20 as she points out, “Opportunities to give are all around you, and finding out how you can bless another person is as easy as using your ears. If you simply listen to people, you’ll soon know what they need or would like.”

Utmost – Luke 9:61 – “Lord, I will follow Thee, but….”  Chambers asks, “Supposing God tell you to do something which is an enormous test to your common sense, what are you going to do? Hang back? …’Yes, I will obey God if He will let me use my common sense, but don’t ask me to take a step in the dark.’ Jesus Christ demands of the man who trusts Him the same reckless sporting spirit that the natural man exhibits. If a man is going to do anything worthwhile, there are times when he has to risk everything on his leap…. Trust entirely in God, and when He brings you to the venture, see that you take it. We act like pagans in a crisis, only on out of a crowd is daring enough to bank his faith in the character of God.”

JL – “Majestic Jesus, Your unfailing Love is better than life itself! …This Love is so precious that it’s worth losing everything else to secure it….. In Your praiseworthy Name, Amen.”
