May 24, 2026 – Priorities

Resting and renewing on a beautiful afternoon with friends and family at Silver Oak Cellars in Napa Valley, CA.

JC – “Bring Me your mind for rest and renewal.” Because I was out of town for a few or more days, I am playing catch up on these entries and was getting a little tired; so, I thought I’d go lay down for a bit. Twenty minutes is usually all I need and then I’ll be fresh and ready for what is next, but I decided that I’d at least get started on today’s blog and was immediately reminded that God can refresh me. “Let Me infuse My Presence into your thoughts…. I want you to walk with Me in the garden of your heart, where I have taken up permanent residence.”

Power – John 3:27 – “John answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.] Joyce looks to John’s acceptance of Jesus’ ministry overshadowing his as she offers this advice, “God doesn’t want you to be jealous of the gifts He has given others. He wants you to be content and enjoy the gifts He has given you.”

Prevail #145 – Psalm 92:10 – “But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.” Larson reminds us that, “It’s good and important to start out your day giving thanks to God. Before one thing happens – good or bad – you have reason to celebrate God. He’s worth it, He deserves it, and believe it or not, it’s good for you. Gratitude profoundly impacts your health…. Proclaim God’s goodness in the morning and His faithfulness at night…. you will find that God’s presence in your life carries more weight than your temporary, fleeting circumstances…. He claims you as His own, equips you to win your battle, and refuses to let your enemy triumph over you.”

Streams – Cowman draws from selected sources as she writes, “’The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations’ (Ps 33:11). But we must be prepared to wait on God’s timing.”

JA – “THERE IS PEACE AND FULLNESS OF JOY in My loving Presence. Look for Me as you go through this day – I am eager to be found by you…. Confess the idols that have drawn you away from Me. Take time to receive My forgiveness with thanksgiving. Collaborate with Me in rearranging your priorities – making Me first in your life…. While you are delighting in Me, I fill you up with Love, Joy, and Peace.”

Utmost – Chambers offers this about the peace of God, “It may be that like the apostle John you know Jesus Christ intimately, when suddenly He appears with no familiar characteristic at all, and the only thing you can do is to fall at His feet as dead…. if you are ever to be raised up, it must be by the hand of God…. Whenever His hand is laid upon you, it is ineffable peace and comfort, the sense that ‘underneath are the everlasting arms,’ full of sustaining and comfort and strength. When once His touch comes, nothing at all can cast you into fear again…. God can do nothing for me until I get to the limit of the possible.”

JL – “Gentle, loving Jesus, Help me to rejoice in You always – letting my gentleness be evident to all…. When my circumstances are stressful, it’s all too easy for me to become irritable. But You are teaching me to demonstrate gentleness – not irritability – to others…. Please remind me to thank You frequently for Your continual Presence and Your unfailing Love…. In Your glorious Name, Amen.”
