Sept 19, 2025 – Before, During, and After

I’m surprised and pleased by the pain I’m feeling tonight because it confirms that I’m doing the right thing going into surgery tomorrow (9/19 – I’m writing on the evening of 9/18). I am grateful for skilled doctors and nurses to take care of me, but I still believe in the power of prayer and healing. My small group friends all laid their hands on me this morning and prayed for me and for all who will be caring for me tomorrow. I know my family and friends outside of that small group will be lifting me up as well. What a comforting feeling. The prayer covering and my faith have me at peace trusting God to be with me before, during, and after the surgery.

JA – “There is a mighty battle going on for control of your mind….When you shut out the world and focus on My Presence, you can enjoy sitting with Me in heavenly realms….Refuse to worry.

Power focuses on the two-edged sword in Hebrews 4:12. Joyce writes, “When we speak the Word of God out of our mouths, it becomes a two-edged sword – defeating the enemy with one edge and opening blessings of heaven with the other….We can release God’s Word through prayer, confessing His Word out loud, and taking God-inspired action.”

Streams – John 15:1 – “My Father is the gardener.”  It’s a comforting thought that trouble, in whatever form it comes to us, is a heavenly messenger that brings us something from God. Outwardly it may appear painful or even destructive, but inwardly its spiritual work produces blessings.” I believe that….

I wish I could write more but I need to go put on the sleep apnea test equipment to get at least six hours of sleep for the second night of testing. We have to get up early for our 5:45am scheduled arrival at the surgery center. Thank you for your prayers. And, sweet dreams!
