Dec 10, 2025 – Awareness
I woke early this morning in time to see the sunrise as I peeked through the blinds on the front of the house. The mornings lately have been overcast so it was nice to see the orange glow stretching across the row of houses across the street. It was an interesting perspective to then walk to the backside of the house and see the night sky still highlighting the city lights in the valley below. Certainly there are issues with my house and my city, etc; but, for the most part, I feel very blessed to live where I do.
JC – “Instead of yearning for a problem-free life, rejoice that trouble can highlight your awareness of My Presence…. Remember that you have an eternity of trouble-free living awaiting you in heaven.”
Streams – “Cartons containing spices from the Orient may be cumbersome to ship and slow in coming, but once they arrive the beautiful fragrances fill the air. In the same way, suffering is trying and difficult to bear, but hiding just below its surface is discipline, knowledge, and limitless possibilities. Each of these not only strengthens and matures us but also equips us to help others. So do not worry or clench your teeth, simply waiting with stubborn determination for the suffering to pass. Instead, be determined to get everything you can from it, both for yourself and for the sake of those around you, according to the will of God. selected”
Prevail 344 – Larson shares these paraphrased words from her interview with Joni Eareckson Tada in which they talked about 2 Peter 3:8, “We’ve all heard that a day is like a thousand years. But it never occurred to me that a thousand years is like a day. That means I can bear a thousand years’ worth of fruit in a single day. Though I am limited by my wheelchair, I’m not limited in prayer. How might we live differently if we truly understood the eternal potential in every day God gives us?” Larson asks, “Imagine if every kingdom investment you made today was multiplied 1000 times over. How might you live differently today?”
Utmost – “If we do not sacrifice the natural to the spiritual, the natural life will mock at the life of the Son of God in us and produce a continual swither. This is always the result of an undisciplined spiritual nature. We go wrong because we stubbornly refuse to discipline ourselves, physically, morally or mentally. ‘I wasn’t disciplined when I was a child.’ You must discipline yourself now. If you do not, you will ruin the whole of your personal life for God. God is not with our natural life while we pamper it; but when we put it out in the desert and resolutely keep it under, then God will be with it; and He will open up wells and oases, and fulfill all His promises for the natural.”
Power – Joshua 1:8 NLT – “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joyce shared this quote to consider: “If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life, all you have to do is change your mind” (Anonymous). Then she shared, “You will never do what you need to do until you think what you need to think. God’s Word will renew your mind, so love the Word, live the Word, speak the Word, meditate on the Word – and things will begin to change.”
