Sept 18, 2025 – Thankful Awareness
I did the first night of the home sleep study last night (my insurance didn’t approve the lab version, but I actually preferred easing into the evaluation this way because it was less intrusive).
JA – “To infuse more Joy into your day, seek to increase your awareness that I am with you. An easy way to do this is to say: ‘Thank You, Jesus, for Your Presence….You don’t have to feel My nearness in order to pray this way. However, the more you thank Me for My Presence, the more real I become to you.”
Prevail 261 – “Whenever there’s a big gap between how we act and how we truly are, it’s an opportunity for the enemy to steal our joy, destroy our influence, and cause us to sin in ways we’ll regret later….God doesn’t have unrealistic expectations of us, but He does expect us to be honest and real….”
Power – Joyce reminds us how cameras used to have film that needed to be developed, some still do. “It’s the same with you. God placed potential inside you, but just having potential is not enough. Be willing to let God work daily to bring you to spiritual maturity in Him.”
JC – “The free will I bestowed on you comes with awesome responsibility….That’s why it is so important to stay in communication with Me, living in thankful awareness of My Presence.”
Streams – “Waiting upon God is vital in order to see Him and receive a vision from Him. And the amount of time spent before Him is also critical, for our hearts are like a photographer’s film – the longer exposed, the deeper the impression.” See?! God weaves a message through these devotions as if people are actually in a group talking and building on what someone else said. “Remember, the troubled surface of a lake will not reflect an image. Yes, our lives must be quiet and peaceful if we expect to see God.”
Proverbs 29:18 – “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Utmost – “Satan does not tempt us to do wrong things, he tempts us in order to make us lose what God has put into us by regeneration, viz., the possibility of being of value to God….[Jesus] went through the temptations ‘without sin,’ and retained the possessions of His personality intact.”
Max – “As you look up at the debt you can never pay, let this promise be declared: ‘There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’ ” Romans 8:1
