Mar 23, 2026 – Entrust
Today, driving on the interstate back home from Fairhope, I realized something I’ve wondered about all of my life of highway driving as I’ve dealt with wide loads and wondered about the lead car being so far in front of the load they were leading. Haven’t you ever eased as far left as possible as you passed a half of a house on the highway that was cheating into the left lane and then a ways up ahead you pass a truck or car with a light or sign on it signifying that they are part of the wide load convoy? It seemed useless for the car to be so far ahead.
That happened today; but, before I got past the wide load, it edged so far over the line that it was riding both lanes and no one could pass. There was one car in front of me that seemed to allow the truck pulling the half house to block the way and we all just rode along like that was normal until we came to a section of the road with guard rails and then a section of road with concrete walls on both sides. The wide load couldn’t have stayed in its lane in those areas; so, long before the road narrowed, it cheated to the middle of the two lanes. That’s when the ah ha hit me. The lead car was scouting ahead of the wide load and likely radioing back letting them know how to handle upcoming issues. That’s what God does for us – if we will listen!
JC – “I am a God of both intricate detail and overflowing abundance. When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer your petitions…. Come to Me in joyful expectation of receiving all you need – and sometimes much more!”
Prevail #82 – Larson draws from the story in 2 Kings 4:37, when Elisha resurrected the son of the Shunammite woman, as she asks, “Do you have such a desire buried deep within you? Sometimes it feels easier to live with loss than it does with hope. But is it better? I don’t think so. What if God wants to breathe fresh life into your hopes? What if He intends to resurrect your long-buried dream? Will you let Him?” I reached out in faith on Sunday for a long-buried dream. I don’t know what may happen, but even talking about it brought me joy.
Max encourages, “Jesus not only did a work for us; he does a work within us…. (Colossians 1:27). He commandeers our hands and feet, requisitions our minds and tongues…. God changes us day by day. We’ll never be sinless, but we will sin less. And when we do sin, we have this assurance: the grace that saved us also preserves us. We may lose our tempers, our perspective, and our self-control. But we never lose our hope, because God has his hold on us.” He is the lead car.
Power – 2 Chronicles 16:9 – “ For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.” Joyce offers, “People who have a deep desire to please God may not perform perfectly all the time, but they keep pressing forward and always shave the attitude of wanting to improve.”
